Edinburgh boxer Josh Taylor has come under fire after his controversial tweet about coronavirus sparked a mostly negative reaction.
Taylor tweeted "It is NOT a conspiracy theory to believe that your immune system is there to DO ITS JOB & a bloody good 1 at that."
This tweet garnered over 300 replies, with one Twitter user saying, "So disappointed in you Josh. You're so much better than diving into this conspiracy theory nonsense", to which Taylor cheekily replied, "It's not a conspiracy theory to think your immunise system can do its job hahah."
Another user commented "Stick to boxing.", and another counteracting his claim by saying "Next time you have chicken for dinner. Don't bother cooking it. Yer immune system will deal with the salmonella."
Not all replies were against the 'Tartan Tornado', however, as one user agreed with this statement, "Exactly. And why would you willingly inject your body with a new vaccine that's less than 12 months old. There could be all sorts of side affects that show up down the line."
This is not Taylors first jab at the jab, as his retweets over the last few weeks coincide with his latest tweet on the virus.
One of his latest retweets came from verified user James Melville, who stated, "Vaccine passports for domestic use are one of the most illiberal and authoritarian proposals ever produced by a government.
"It ends medical privacy and risks a two-tier society based on coercion and discrimination. It must be stopped. Retweet if you agree #NoVaccinePassports."
This vaccine passport debate coincides with the news that a Scotland vaccine passport app is now in development by the same company who created the Protect Scotland app in 2020.
