Edinburgh: Body found at Liberton High School sparks police probe

A body has been found at a secondary school in Edinburgh.

The body was discovered in a wooded area near the playing fields at Liberton High School in the south east of the Scottish capital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A man's body was discovered in a wooded area at Liberton High School.

“It was reported around 1.30pm on Tuesday 30th August.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries to establish the full circumstances are at an early stage.”

A police cordon is in place as forensic teams investigate the scene.

The school previously made headlines in 2014 after 12-year-old Keane Wallis-Bennett was killed after a wall fell down in a changing room.
