Edinburgh Black Lives Matter protest: posters explain what to do if you get arrested

Thousands of people have shown up at Black Lives Matter movements across both Edinburgh and Glasgow today (7 June) to show support for black rights and protest the death of George Floyd in America.

Now posters with legal information on what to do if you are arrested are emerging outside the protests and are also circulating online.

The poster explains everything from what to do if you are arrested, to the name and number of a solicitor you could call if you got into trouble with the law.

The poster states that it has come from the Scottish Activists Legal Project who say that they "provide legal support and advice to political activists in Scotland who come into conflict with the law."

The poster also has the number for a BackOffice legal support line and advises that people arrested "don't accept a duty solicitor."
