Edinburgh 'beer palace' to reopen with flower-filled mini spring Oktoberfest

If there's one thing we're enjoying here at Edinburgh Live right now, it's seeing all the exciting new events planned for Scotland's lockdown easing after months of our favourite bars, pubs and restaurants being closed.

Edinburgh city centre beer palace Brewhemia may have been forced to close temporarily last year due to Scotland's coronavirus lockdown but luckily for us they're making sure we don't miss out on any German festivities this May when they reopen.

Reopening on May 17th in line with Scotland's indoor hospitality rules easing with the return of alcohol sales, Brewhemia will be throwing open its doors with Fruhlingsfest.

Fruhlingsfest? Yes, this is very much a thing and we're already into it in a BIG WAY.

Frühlingsfest aka Springfest is essentially the same thing as Oktoberfest taking place in Munich Germany but earlier in the year, described as “spring feast, the festival of spring.”

Known as Oktoberfest's Little Sister, Fruhlingsfest brings together all the tasty things you'd expect – think steins, sausages, pretzels and plenty more Bavarian bounty and after months of lockdown, we can't think of anything better to get stuck into.

Brewhemia will also be serving up plenty of exciting new spring scran from brunch to lunch to dinner and will have a brand new spring cocktail menu to wash it all down with if beer isn't your bag.

We'd advise booking your table now sooner than later - get involved here.
