An Edinburgh bar has pleaded with locals after seeing around five tables fail to turn up every day since reopening.
Subway Social told Edinburgh Live they are one of many beer gardens across the city that have seen slots go unoccupied despite being nearly fully booked.
In a plea on social media, the venue stated that they have had an "amazing" two weeks welcoming people back, but have warned they may have to introduce a booking deposit.
With the city often seeing heavy rain over the last week, staff stated that there is no shame in cancelling, but asked that customers at least let them know so they can rebook the table.
In a post, they said: "There is nothing better than seeing you all enjoy what we have built for you.
"However, we want to make it even better and we need your help to do that. There seems to be a trend of “lets book a few places and decide on the day”, given what we have had to endure through lockdown its very disappointing to see so many lovely tables go unoccupied.
"We realise the weather hasn’t been great over the last week but it only takes a second to jump onto your booking and hit cancel if you cannot attend - we are inundated with messages asking for slots that we can’t give as they are all booked out and for people to just not turn up.
"If we continue to recieve these ‘no shows’ we will have no choice to add a booking charge which is the last thing we want."
Subway also reinforced that there is a 'one booking per group per day' policy, after having individuals making duplicate bookings in the hope of staying for longer.
The bar is not the first to have experienced no shows since reopening, with Frederick Street restaurant Miller and Carter stating they faced 43 empty tables in just one day.
