Edinburgh bank hires new director for its London operation

Edinburgh-headquartered private bank Hampden & Co has appointed Anne Filkins as a director in its London office.

She joins from C Hoare and Co , one of the UK's oldest private banks, were she spent more than 30 years advising a portfolio of clients including entrepreneurs, landed estates, lawyers, authors and actors.

Filkins, who takes on the title of banking director, added: “My love of interaction with clients has remained a constant thread throughout my career.

"I have always found it a pleasure to take time to visit clients in their own settings, enabling a true understanding of not only their own plans but those of the following generations."

In June, Hampden & Co reported its 2018 annual results with lending, deposits and income all up by double-digits during the year. Last week, the private bank announced half-year results, with deposits up year-on-year by £95 million, an increase of 39%, and lending up by £47 million, an increase of 44%.
