Edinburgh bakery launches bizarre black pudding and chutney doughnut

We love a generously covered doughnut piled high with toppings - icing and sprinkles, cinnamon and sugar... black pudding and chutney?

Yes, you read right, one of Edinburgh's most popular bakeries have launched a bizarre savoury doughnut which we're not sure whether counts as a dessert or a main.

Kilted Donut in Leith announced on Instagram that they're now stocking a Black Pudding doughnut which comes with a tomato and red pepper cream cheese glaze and topped with crumbled black pudding and chutney.

The cake store is currently closed to visitors until February 1st under Scotland's new lockdown restrictions but are offering socially distant, pre-ordered home deliveries from Wednesday to Sunday each week.

Kilted Donut are well-known for their unusual flavour combinations but one of their very best has to be their take on a Tunnock's Teacake.

The huge filled doughnut is packed full of marshmallow Chantilly cream, coated with a milk chocolate glaze and sprinkled with crushed digestive.

The wee doughnut shop doesn't use pre-made mixes or artificial flavours and use all natural ingredients wherever possible.
