Edinburgh 'Avengers' cafe reopening as bright pink Mediterranean brunch restaurant

A cafe in Edinburgh's Old Town known for being spotted in blockbuster film Avengers: Infinity War is undergoing a major revamp.

Laila's Mediterranean Bistro is where Avengers Wanda and Vision are attacked by Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight as they race to get possession of the Mind Stone.

The brutal fight sees Wanda thrown through the window of the Cockburn Street cafe - which shows off its film star status with a faux-smashed window pane.

Now it has been announced that Laila's are having a bit of a facelift during lockdown and will be reopening as a Mediterranean brunch restaurant when restrictions lift next month.

Offering a 'Middle Eastern twist on brunch at the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town', Laila's showed off their brand new bright pink exterior on Instagram - while keeping their 'smashed' window in tact.

The team behind the restaurant have also shown off test menu items, including eggs royale with vibrant beetroot hollandaise.

Indoors has also had a major face lift, with new deep green booths and huge flower installations.

You can keep up to date with Laila's latest news on their Instagram page here.
