Owner and Director of Topping bookshop, Cornelia Topping said it was “hugely” significant that Ian Rankin is due to turn up at the book shop on Wednesday.

“Ian has always been one of our great supporters, he was one of the first events that we did when we opened our book shop in Edinburgh back in 2019.”

Cornelia went onto say: “he is a huge believer in books, the physical book more importantly for us” and “he’s been a great champion of book selling and book shops and we are enormously grateful to him.”

Patrick Fialka, lead crime-fiction book seller at Topping Book shop said: “Ian has always been a really good friend to the company, he’s always been really helpful, he pops by for signings, he frequently will have events with us, we are really pleased and honoured for him to do this.”

Sir Ian Rankin’s new book, A Heart Full of Headstones was released on October 13 this year and with 400 expected to turn up for the book signing these two events cannot be missed by Rebus enthusiasts and Edinburgh book lovers.
