Earlier today, Edinburgh Live reported that an Edinburgh driver goes so fast through a flooded road that the impact takes the back of the car off, leaving it floating in the murky rain water.
A local resident captured the black car speeding along a flooded road in Leith so fast the back of the car comes flying off.
Heavy showers are forecast across the capital until around 5pm today when the rain should clear for a dry but cold evening.
The AA's advice on driving through floods and standing water is "Try to avoid standing water if you can.
"Don't drive into flood water that’s moving or more than 10cm (4 inches) deep and let approaching cars pass first.
"Drive slowly and steadily so you don’t make a bow wave and test your brakes as soon as you can afterwards.
"Fast-moving water is very powerful – take care or your car could be swept away.
"If you do get stuck in flood water, it's usually best to wait in the car and call for help rather than try to get out."
