Edinburgh Arthur's Seat stunning walk voted as most beautiful in the whole of the UK

Arthur's Seat is known to Edinburgh locals and tourists as having tome of the best views in the city.

However, the volcanic rock has now bagged the top spot as the most beautiful walk in the whole of the UK, which to be honest, we're not surprised about.

Although a little more of a hike than other hills in Edinburgh such as Calton or Blackford, the panoramic views of the capital more than make up for being a bit out of breath.

Voted for by more than 1,600 people, Arthur's Seat lets you peer all the way from the docks of Leith and the Firth of Forth right over to the Pentland Hills in the south west.

According to Millets, Arthur's Seat even beat the Fairy Pools in Skye and the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland to the top spot, which is pretty impressive.

Speaking about the walk, Kiera Baxter, Millets Marketing Exec and Adventurer says:

“Arthur's Seat is a stunning walk, offering 360-degree views across the city of Edinburgh and the Lothians. With many sights to view along the way, such as St. Anthony’s Chapel, the Salisbury Crags and Duddingston Loch, it is no surprise that the research has found the walk to be the most beautiful in the UK.

“With several routes available, a walk to Arthur's Seat is suitable for every level of walker. For the easiest ascent, we recommend climbing from the east where a grassy slope rises above Dunsapie Loch. Whilst if you’re looking for a challenge head across the grass to the end of Salisbury Crags, where a steep path leads up Nether Hill.

“Wherever you choose to walk, it is essential that you do so responsibly in order to maintain the route’s beauty. We recommend avoiding car journeys where possible, stick to public footpaths and ensure you leave no trace of being there, taking all litter away with you.

“It’s also essential to prepare appropriately for every walk you embark on. Plan your route prior to setting off, pack plenty of water and snacks to keep you energised throughout the day and wear sensible, weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for the route.”
