As the repair is expected to be completed overnight, Scottish Water have said at this stage they won't be providing bottled water to residents in the area but if any have been affected by damage due to flooding they should get in touch.

An update posted on Sunday, June 18 reads: "We are currently repairing a burst water pipe on Morningside Road which is causing the interruption to the water supply for customers in the EH9 and EH10 areas of Edinburgh.

"The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed. The estimated time for repairs to be completed is around 03:00hrs overnight.

"While we carry out the repair, please be aware that you may experience no water supply, low / intermittent pressure or discoloured water."
