Edinburgh and the Lothians weather: Flood warnings as residents brace for torrential rain

Edinburgh and the Lothians are set for torrential rain to start off the week, with the risk of flooding in places on Monday (4 November).

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for rain across Edinburgh, Fife, Midlothian, West Lothian and East Lothian.

According to forecasters, residents should brace themselves for flooding and potential disruption caused by the bad weather.

Spray and sudden flooding could lead to road closures and commuters are warned journey times are likely to take longer.

Last month, parts of East Lothian experienced flooding after river banks had burst, with water having to be pumped from homes in the county.
