Edinburgh and Lothians coronavirus cases increase by 43 to 577

577 people in Edinburgh and the Lothians are now confirmed to have COVID-19, up from 534 yesterday.

The increase of 43 cases was announced at 2pm today (6 April).

In addition, two people in Scotland are confirmed to have died from the virus in the last 24 hours.

A total of 24,036 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these:

  • 20,075 tests were confirmed negative
  • 3,961 tests were positive
  • 222 patients who tested positive have died

Edinburgh and Lothians patients are being treated at Edinburgh's Western General Hospital.

The official COVID-19 figures are released at 2pm daily.
