Edinburgh Airport restaurant flies up Tripadvisor charts overtaking top city venues

Tripadvisor is one of the best places online to discover where to go to eat and drink when visiting any city, but it's always capable of throwing up some true anomalies.

We previously told you how one small café had help its own at the top of Edinburgh's best restaurants list and now it seems it's been joined by an airport eatery that's beating out fine dining establishments and hip food joints to be named as third best in the capital.

The second branch of the popular All Bar One chain opened at Edinburgh Airport's departure lounge at the turn of the year near gate 15, with the new £1.6 million site able to serve up to 200 people from 4am to 9pm.

And it's been impressing almost everyone that's tried it with 132 reviews so far, and nearly every person bar one rating their trip as "excellent".

One impressed passenger wrote: "Very friendly staff, great suggestion of an addition to my order. Food tasted good, and was served quickly.

"The table service also makes it much easier than juggling bags, cups and food from counter to a table in other outlets at the airport so a much more pleasant experience."

While another added: "Great place. Stylish, great music, friendly attentive staff, lovely and clean. Great cocktails and food. Highly recommend."

One member of staff, Anna, was singled out for praise across many of the reviews.

One fan wrote: "Great Service From Anna. We came here for breakfast and thankfully got Anna as our server, she was very accommodating, made me a cortado even though it was not on the menu, she made great conversation with us and set a nice vibe for our holiday!"

Others described her as "fantastic", "so friendly" and "accommodating".

The only blip on their ratings is one local resident who described their trip as "mediocre at best", rating it poor they added that they didn't believe the other glowing reviews, adding: " Had a burger that was pretty small, cooked to absolute death and really rather tasteless. Of course it's an airport so expectations are very low to begin with."
