Edinburgh Airport Jet2 flight declares mid-air emergency with passengers on board

A flight travelling to Edinburgh has declared an emergency this afternoon.

The Jet2 flight from Alicante to Edinburgh declared the emergency while close to the Scottish Borders after a passenger took ill.

The plane departed from Alicante at 2:30pm before the emergency was called as it entered Scotland.

A spokesperson said “Flight LS776 from Alicante to Edinburgh has requested medical assistance upon landing, due to a customer requiring medical attention.”

Jet2 operate flights all across the world from Edinburgh. The travel operator say that their top destinations from the airport are Gran Canaria, Dubrovnik, Ibiza, Alicante, Antalya and Rhodes.
