Edinburgh Airport gets easyJet winter flights for sun seeking Scottish holidaymakers

Budget airline easyJet is preparing to jet off for the winter and have launched their seasonal routes from Edinburgh Airport.

For when the days get shorter and the nights grow darker, many Scottish residents wish for some better weather.

From October 31, Scots can fly to Fuerteventura and from November 3, they can jet off to Lanzarote for £32.99.

A spokesperson from easyJet said: “easyJet can confirm flights are now on sale for some of our winter seasonal routes from Edinburgh.

"We regularly review and monitor our routes and are always open to exploring new and existing opportunities to ensure our network matches customer demand. From 31 October flights will take off from Edinburgh Airport to popular beach destinations Fuerteventura and from 3 November to Lanzarote."

They added: “easyJet is proud to be the largest airline in Scotland and we remain focused on providing greater connectivity for customers in Scotland as well as offering great value fares and more choice when they fly with us.”

This comes after the airline added 145,000 seats to cope with the demand after the UK, lifted the isolation rules for those who are fully vaccinated returning from Amber listed countries.

According to easyJet, summer bookings to Amber listed increased by 400%.

To serve demand, easyJet has put over 145,000 extra seats for this summer on sale between the UK and Amber list countries.

Travellers can fly from Edinburgh Airport to Spain, Greece, Portugal, France, Italy, Croatia and Cyprus from £22.99.
