Edinburgh Airport drive in movies cancelled due to tier three restrictions

The organisers behind Edinburgh Drive in movies at the airport have cancelled the event due to tier three restrictions.

Edinburgh locals were set to enjoy an exciting line-up of classic movies including Mamma Mia and Back to the Future.

But now Edinburgh Film Festival say they have had to pull the plug on the event for November.

The event is still advertising Christmas movies for late December but it is not yet known if they will go ahead if Edinburgh is kept under tier three.

Edinburgh Film Festival released a statement online, penning: "Due to the current Covid-19 protection level in the Edinburgh area, we have made the difficult decision to cancel November's Drive In Movies event at @EDI_Airport

"We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment caused.

"You will receive a full refund, our ticketing team are busy refunding ticket holders now.
