Edinburgh Airport drive-in Christmas movies cancelled again due to level three restrictions

The organisers behind Edinburgh Drive-in movies have had to cancel the event once again following Nicola Sturgeon's lockdown announcement on Tuesday.

Edinburgh Film Festival have confirmed that, due to level three restrictions the capital, the December line up will not be able to go ahead. The films on offer included Home Alone, Frozen, Love Actually, Elf and Die Hard.

It comes after Nicola Sturgeon announced on Tuesday that Edinburgh would not be moving down a level, despite the directors of Public Health Scotland reportedly advising that city had met all the criteria.

The organisers also made a plea to the Scottish Government to review the classification of drive-in events in recent days but this was rejected.

It's another blow for the film festival after last month's line up was also cancelled as they apologised to customers for any "inconvenience and disappointment caused".
