Edinburgh A90 crash: Four-car pile up causes huge delays as road closed off

Edinburgh drivers have been warned to expect serious delays after a huge car crash on Friday morning (September 3) near the Forth Road Bridge.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the A90 at around 8.15am after reports of a serious collision involving four different vehicles.

Police, the fire service and the Scottish Ambulance service are all in attendance, with a section of the road closed off to traffic heading towards Edinburgh at Cramond Brig.

With the incident still ongoing, a number of public transport diversions have been made, including Lothian Buses, who have made alterations to the number 43 service.

Those using the service have been informed that the route will be diverted via Kirkliston, Newbridge and Maybury Road back onto route at Barnton.

It is currently unclear if any injuries or casualties have been a result of the collision.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.15am on Friday, 3 September, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving four cars on the A90 near to South Queensferry.

"Emergency services are at the scene."
