Starting on April 27 lane closures and speed restrictions will be in place on the A720 eastbound between Millerhill and Old Craighall.
April 28 and 29 will see closures and speed restrictions on the A720 eastbound at Lothianburn and the slip road onto the A720 at Lothianburn will also be closed.
A diversion will be in place via the A720 westbound to Dreghorn. This will add an estimated three minutes to affected journeys.
The overnight closures are due to investigation works that are being carried out by BEAR Scotland in the area for future resurfacing projects.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These investigation works on the A720 are essential to the design and planning of future resurfacing improvements.
“The traffic management will be in place to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists, however, to help minimise delays we’ve planned the works to take place during night-time hours.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Motorists are being encouraged to plan ahead and check Traffic Scotland before they travel during these times next week.
