Edinburgh 21-year-old rushed to hospital after 'disturbance' outside city centre pub

An Edinburgh man was rushed to hospital this week following an incident outside a busy city centre pub.

Police had been called out to the 'disturbance' on Wednesday night (June 1) after reports of an altercation on Robertson's Close.

Officers were seen speaking to witnesses in the Cowgate at around 11.10pm near Pilgrim bar following the incident, which saw a man taken to hospital.

In a statement, police confirmed the 21-year-old had been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Robertson's Close, Edinburgh around 11.10pm on Wednesday, 1 June, 2022.
