Edge rusher D’Andre Walker will miss 2019 season for Titans

2019 was supposed to be edge rusher D’Andre Walker’s rookie season.

But that notion is gone away now, since it was announced Saturday that he would be placed on injured reserve in a flurry of Tennessee Titans roster moves.

Walker was originally selected by the Titans in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the No. 168 overall pick. One of the primary concerns with Walker during this time period was the groin injury that hindered him as he was being looked at by scouts in the spring.

Shortly after, he was signed to a four-year, $2,786,749 deal with a $266,749 signing bonus.

Walker still has a lot of potential coming out of of Georgia, recording 112 tackles, 13.5 sacks and four passes defensed over four seasons with the Bulldogs.

In his final season, Walker led his state with 23.5 sacks and 29 tackles for a loss.

Unfortunately for Titans fans, they’ll just have to wait a bit longer than expected to see what he brings to the table at the NFL level.

The Titans play their next preseason matchup on Aug. 17, this time against the New England Patriots in Nissan Stadium.
