A Land Rover has collided with a lamppost in Edge Hill, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
Police said the occupants of the vehicle managed to escape with minor injuries following the collision on Wavertree Road.
An image shared of the scene by Merseyside Police shows the vehicle with serious damage to the passenger side - the front end appears to be completely obliterated and the nearside wheel is nowhere to be seen.
The windscreen is also smashed and debris can be seen strewn across the road.

In a tweet sent at 12:57am on Friday (January 21), Merseyside Police wrote: "The occupants of this car were lucky to sustain only minor injury after colliding with a lamppost on Wavertree Rd."
