Eden Hazard was right to stay at Chelsea and won't consider January transfer, claims brother Thorgan

Chelsea star Eden Hazard made the right decision in staying at the club this summer and is not considering leaving in January, according to his brother Thorgan Hazard.

The 27-year-old has been in sensational form for the Blues this season, scoring seven goals to make him joint-top goalscorer with Sergio Aguero in the Premier League.

The Belgian playmaker was courted by Real Madrid over the summer and admitted he wanted to join the La Liga giants after the World Cup before opting to stay at Stamford Bridge.

And Thorgan, who now plays for Borussia Moenchengladbach after leaving the west London club in 2015, thinks his sibling made the correct call.

“Eden made the right decision to stay at Chelsea,” Thorgan told Belgian newspaper HLN.

“Chelsea weren’t keen on selling him and he had a strong start of the season.

"Real Madrid are in a complex period. They sacked their manager, key players left. They have to rebuild."

Chelsea may be forced into considering a sale next summer if they cannot agree a new contract with Hazard, who has just 18 months left on his current deal.

But Thorgan, 25, has suggested his older brother will not seek a move in January by claiming he's not looking to leave at present.

“I think Eden will see what happens at the end of the season," he added. "I know him. He’s not thinking about a move right now.

“He will give everything for Chelsea. He doesn’t want a clash with his club either. If he ever leaves, he will play it correctly.”
