'Eden Hazard vibes' - Chelsea fans go nuts over Mason Mount's Liverpool goal

Chelsea may have finally found their Eden Hazard replacement, and they did not have to look too far at all.

The Blues parted ways with their superstar Belgian in 2019, selling him to Real Madrid for more £100million after his seven impressive years at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard's trajectory since has not exactly gone to plan, the 30-year-old suffering a plethora of injuries, but the same can't be said for Mason Mount.

The midfielder has not looked back since returning from a loan spell with Derby County, forcing his way into the Chelsea first-team and becoming a stalwart under both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.

Mount has been praised by both head coaches and his performances this season have merited that praise, scoring six and assisting as many across all competitions.

And his latest goal, the winner against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Thursday night, gave Chelsea fans a flashback of Hazard's time at the club.

The England international set off towards the corner of the box before cutting inside and curling a shot inside the far right-hand corner, the type of goal Hazard specialises in.

And Chelsea fans have been drawing comparisons between the two on the back of the goal, suggesting Mount might have a touch of Hazard about him.

Here's what some fans said on Twitter.

Hazard and Mount are certainly different players with the former a winger and the latter an attacking midfielder, though Mount has been given licence to drift wide under Tuchel.

Since the German head coach was appointed as Lampard's successor, Mount has largely played in an attacking midfield role with the licence to drift wide to create options with Chelsea playing with wing-backs and not wingers.

It will be interesting to see how the 22-year-old develops into that role and whether we see more flashes of Hazard in the coming weeks.
