Christian Benteke says it has always been Eden Hazard's dream to play for Real Madrid as the Chelsea man closes in on a switch to the Spanish capital.
The 28-year-old is expected to complete a move to Real Madrid this summer after admitting that it was "probably goodbye" to Chelsea after helping the Blues to victory in the Europa League final against Arsenal last month.
It has been reported that a deal worth around £88.5million has been agreed between the two clubs, with the move expected to happen in the coming days.
And Benteke, who has known Hazard for many years with the pair being team-mates at international level for Belgium, has admitted that the Chelsea man made his mind up some time ago regarding the move.
"Eden and I have known each other since we are young boys," the Crystal Palace striker said, speaking while on international duty.
"He always told me that Real Madrid is his dream club. His choice has therefore been made for a long time.
"I am happy for him that he is close to an agreement. I hope it will be fully official as soon as possible."
Another of Hazard's international team-mate's at international level, Kevin De Bruyne, has also been speaking about the proposed move, with the Manchester City star dropping a hint that the Chelsea ace is on the verge of completing his switch to Madrid imminently.
