Eden Hazard to get his Chelsea return wish as Zinedine Zidane teases Real Madrid announcement

Zinedine Zidane has teased that Eden Hazard will be in the Real Madrid squad to face Chelsea.

With the Champions League semi-final first leg taking place on Tuesday night, it's likely that the Frenchman will announce which players he will be counting on to get a positive result against the Blues.

And after featuring as a substitute in Real Madrid's goalless draw with Real Betis on Saturday, Hazard appears to have set up the possibility of featuring against his former club.

Speaking after his side dropped points in the La Liga title race, Zidane delivered a glowing verdict on the Belgian's 15-minute cameo performance and revealed his plans for the 30-year-old.

“I liked [Eden] Hazard’s performance," Zidane said as per Football Espana. "He can be a very important player for us, he can contribute a lot to us."

Zidane stating that Hazard can be important for Los Blancos as they seek to retain their La Liga crown and reclaim the Champions League would suggest the winger will play some part next week.

But given it was his first appearance since mid-March, it is likely that the ex- Chelsea star will start on the bench in the first leg - if involved.

Should Hazard get the chance to line up against his old teammates, it means his wish will come true.

Speaking in 2019, after swapping London for Spain, the Belgian admitted that he would love to get the opportunity to face his former club in European football's elite competition.

"Chelsea and especially Chelsea fans will always be special to me and next season I will look for your results first," he said.

"I hope that we are drawn against each other in the Champions League and every season so we can meet again."

Injuries have stopped Hazard from performing at his best for Real Madrid on a consistent basis.

Interestingly in January, as reported by Football Espana, a poll taken by Marca showed that a large section of fans believed he should be dropped from the starting XI or sold.

But with him fit again, there's still time for him to win over those supporters and helping Los Blancos overcome Chelsea, if he plays any part next week, will be a good way to start.
