Eden Hazard is again being linked with a sensational return to Chelsea.
The 30-year-old left the Blues for La Liga in 2019 in a deal reportedly worth up to £130million, but his career at Real Madrid just hasn't taken off, with the creative winger suffering injuries on a frequent basis.
During a seven year-spell at Stamford Bridge, Hazard made more than 350 appearances in a Chelsea shirt.
However, in the three years since he moved to Spain, he has only mustered just over 51 games for Los Blancos, and as a result of his injury led form, he is again being touted with a move back to the Premier League.
Spanish outlet El Nacional has reported that the Blues are reportedly in early informal talks with Madrid to re-sign Hazard, and owner Roman Abramovich is ‘increasingly convinced' that the 30-year old will be one of the best in the world again if he returned to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, it has been suggested that the Blues are unwilling to pay more than £33m for his services.
With that in mind, just how much is he really worth?
Well, according to the CIES Football Observatory, Hazard is valued between £12.7m and £17m, suggesting that the Blues could try to persuade Madrid to sell with a lowball offer.
Hazard’s contract runs out in June 2024, but he will be 33 years old by then and will have no resale value. So, if reports are to be believed, and Chelsea do have up to £33m to spend on him, any offer could well force Madrid into an early transfer decision.
However, if the Blues could get an offer of his reported £17m value, it would prove to be yet another transfer masterstroke from Marina Granovskaia.
Sealing a £130m deal two and a bit years ago, that would see a swing of £113m in favour of Chelsea, proving once again Granovskaia really is one of the best int he business.
