Eden Hazard's transfer to Real Madrid to be 'confirmed within days'

Eden Hazard's transfer to Real Madrid is reportedly set to be rubber stamped within the coming days.

The Chelsea forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants at the end of the season.

Marca report that the Belgian's switch to Madrid will be confirmed this week for a fee of around 100 million euros.

Hazard will only have one year remaining on his current Blues contract come the summer, and has made no secret of his desire to join the Los Blancos.

Chelsea have already made plans for Hazard's departure, having sealed a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic back in January, who will join the club before the next campaign.

Madrid have already been active in the transfer market, with agreements in place for the signings of Porto's Eder Militao and Santos' Rodrygo Goes in June.

But Hazard is the primary target for Madrid, with manager Zinedine Zidane keen on making the 28-year-old their marquee signing this summer.

Relations between the clubs are already on good terms, following the successful loan arrangement of Mateo Kovacic.

Hazard has already rejected several opportunities to renew his contract at Stamford Bridge, leaving his departure from the club almost certain.

One stumbling block could be the transfer ban recently handed to Chelsea, however, but with the Blues set to appeal the punishment, and the signing of Pulisic already confirmed, it is likely the deal will go ahead.

Chelsea would rather command a big fee for Hazard this summer, rather than lose him for nothing when his current deal expires in a years time.

Marca also suggest that Madrid have shown interest in three other big name stars, including Man Utd's Paul Pogba.

Zidane is said to be a big fan of his fellow countryman, but the Madrid board do not hold the same view.

In addition, with a move for Hazard set to cost a hefty sum, it is unlikely the La Liga side will fork out a similar if not larger amount for Pogba's services.

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen and Ajax's Donny van de Beek have also been mooted as potential additions to the Madrid squad, but a move for Hazard is believed to be priority.
