Eden Hazard's perfect response amid Chelsea return talk as Frank Lampard makes transfer decision

Here's all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Player ratings vs Luton Town

Chelsea are through to the FA Cup fifth round thanks to a 3-1 win over Luton Town

Tammy Abraham was the Blues' hero as he scored a hat-trick to take his tally for the season to 11 across all competitions and do his chances of starting against Wolves no harm.

However, the same can't be said for his strike partner Timo Werner, who saw his penalty saved late on.

As expected, Abraham scored high in the ratings, as did defender Reece James and Hakim Ziyech.

But how did the rest of the team fare?

Lampard transcript

The Blues head coach faced the media following the Luton game and the main talking point from his press conference was about Billy Gilmour's performance and future.

"His comfort on the ball, the way he moved it, his discipline, his personality was great. If he plays like he does today, it makes it very difficult for me not to give him a run.

"He trains that way too.

"With his youth and the injury he had, and with the difficult run we’ve been on in the last month, it’s been a case of me finding the right time to get Billy in. Today felt like the right time and he was brilliant.

"In the short term for me, looking at things today, he won’t be going out on loan.

"Of course, we’ll keep that slightly open until the end of the month but Billy is a Chelsea player and the level he showed today highlights why he is a Chelsea player in the middle of the park."

Hazard's perfect response

Earlier in the month, it appeared that some rather angry Real Madrid supporters had turned on former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

As reported by Football Espana, a poll taken by Marca showed that a large section of Real Madrid fans believed Hazard should be dropped from the starting XI or sold.

The report states that 44 per cent of fans believe the best scenario is for Hazard and Los Blancos to part ways at the earliest convenience after anger at his performances.

Luckily for Hazard, he could always return to Chelsea if Real Madrid fans get their way.

And the Belgian international has already teased a return to Stamford Bridge once he's finished up in the Spanish capital.

However, Hazard let his football do the talking on Saturday night with a goal and an assist in Los Blancos' 4-1 win over Alaves. Some may say it was the perfect response to his doubters.
