Eden Hazard's diet regime as ex-teammate divulges Real Madrid star's love of burgers

Eden Hazard is one of the finest players in world football at present.

Two-time Premier League winner, World Cup star, and Real Madrid's €100million summer signing; the Belgian has worked his way to the very top.

But in the modern realm of professional diet plans and health foods, it seems he has done so without sacrificing any of his favourite meals.

The 29-year-old is one of the most highly-rated talents on the planet, yet his dietary regime could certainly do with a little training.

That is according to his former Chelsea teammate Marcin Bulka, who revealed Hazard's penchant for some greasy junk food.

“He loves hamburgers and pizza, I saw him all the time in pizzerias," Bulkin told Foot Truck . “He doesn’t care about anything other than football and having a good time."

Hazard was criticised upon his arrival at Madrid in the summer, after returning from the off-season break with a few extra pounds round his midrift.

The forward admitted himself back in November he was overweight at the start of his Madrid career.

“It’s true,” Hazard told L’Equipe . “I’m not going to hide it, but when I’m on vacation, I’m on vacation.

“I had put on five kilos, I’m the type to put on quickly and lose so quickly if I’m careful."

Bulkin says Hazard's eating habits were never a problem during his time at Chelsea, but conceded he "probably went a bit overboard with the weight" ahead of his Real switch.

Hazard has unsurprisingly struggled to hit the ground running in Spain, scoring just once in his 15 appearances for Madrid so far.

And he has now suffered a further setback, after fracturing his ankle in the weekend defeat to Levante.

Boss Zinedine Zidane said: "He loves playing football and while I can't tell you what is in his eyes, I can see he is not happy.

"It's important he stays positive but, of course, it's difficult. It's a bad moment, it won't be easy and he will feel like that for a while.

"I do not know if he will have to go through an operation. It is not my area and I don't know if his season is over, but I hope not."
