Eden Hazard return, Timo Werner's form and Thomas Tuchel's biggest Chelsea decisions

The international break is almost at a close and attention will return back to the Premier League this weekend when Chelsea are back in action against Brentford.

The Blues are currently top of the pile in the top flight after seven games, one point ahead of Liverpool in second and two ahead of Manchester City in third.

Chelsea make the short four-mile trip along the A4 on Saturday evening as they face Premier League new boys Brentford for the first time in the Premier League, with Thomas Frank's side off to a flier as they sit seventh after seven games played.

Chelsea could welcome back N'Golo Kante for the game after the midfielder returned to training earlier this week having completed his quarantine period after testing positive for Covid-19.

Away from Cobham, Chelsea's international players have been in action for their country's, with Timo Werner scoring twice for Germany on Monday night and Kai Havertz also on the scoresheet in a win over North Macedonia to secure qualification for next year's World Cup in Qatar.

Romelu Lukaku missed out for Belgium in their Nations League loss to Italy at the weekend with what manager Roberto Martinez described as "overload" and muscle fatigue having played 90 minutes of their loss to France three days prior.

Chelsea's players will be returning to Cobham later this week and Thiago Silva, who has been in South America with Brazil, is unlikely to be back until late on Thursday or perhaps early on Friday so his participation against Brentford is unlikely.

In other news, Eden Hazard continues be linked with a return to Chelsea two years after departing for Real Madrid, where it hasn't gone to plan at all for the Belgian star.

As we approach the end of the international break, it is time for us to do a Chelsea Q&A with our chief Chelsea correspondent Sam Inkersole, who is ready to take your Blues-related questions.
