Eden Hazard is in line to face Chelsea for the first time in his career.
The former Chelsea winger has endured a torrid time since his transfer to Real Madrid for more than £100million in 2019, missing well over 50 games through injury.
Hazard's latest injury has kept him out for six games so far, including both of Real Madrid's quarter-final fixtures against Liverpool as Los Blancos progressed with a 3-1 aggregate win.
The win means Real Madrid will face Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final, setting up a first return for Hazard since his move to the Spanish capital.
Hazard, who spent seven years with Chelsea, has never faced the Blues, but he now looks set to do so for the first time with his recovery well on track.
The Belgian is back training with teammates following his most recent injury and he was in contention to face Liverpool but Zinedine Zidane decided not to risk him.
The French boss said earlier this month: "There is no plan with Hazard. We are not going to force anything. It will be little by little. I don’t tell you when I see him.
"If it is in three days, better. If it is in 10 days, well then ok.”
Hazard has managed just three goals in only 25 La Liga appearances since joining Real Madrid, and he is in need of a big break to get his career with Los Blancos off the ground.
A Champions League semi-final statement against his old club would certainly tick that box and, no doubt, Chelsea fans will already be having nightmares having seen Hazard return to training.
Hazard and Real Madrid will face Chelsea at Valdebebas on April 27 before meeting again at Stamford Bridge on May 5.
