Eden Hazard, Kingsley Coman: The latest Chelsea transfer rumours ahead of January window

The transfer window is just around the corner as Thomas Tuchel and co. ponder making January moves to keep the positive momentum going that has been harnessed so far in the 2021/22 campaign.

Wins against Malmo and Newcastle mean that the Blues are going strong in many competitions, despite their injury woes at this current moment.

Chelsea are typically big spenders, and they may need to further strengthen their squad in January if something worthwhile presents itself in the market.

Equally, there may be an opportunity for some players to leave in the near future.

The likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are out of contract at the end of the season, whilst some others have been linked with moves away.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the latest rumours out there.

What?

Liverpool have joined Chelsea in the race for Eden Hazard's signature.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp 'wants to sign' Real Madrid star according to the Spanish outlet.

The Belgium international has struggled since he left Chelsea in 2019 and the report claims Klopp wants to bring him back to the Premier League.

The rise of Vinicius at the Bernabeu has all but demoted Hazard to the bench and Klopp believes the player's problem is 'mental' and not to do with his quality.

However, despite Hazard no longer falling into the 'world class' bracket, the article goes on to say he'll still demand a significant salary, one that could present a problem for any potential suitors.

Who?

Kingsley Coman

Tentative links to the French winger keep appearing and this is the latest one.

The Blues are also reported to be chasing Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, whose contract is set to expire in 2023.

After seeing star defender David Alaba sign for Real Madrid on a free last summer, the Bavarians are reportedly keen to cash in on Coman if it becomes clear he won't extend his stay at the club.

According to the German outlet, Bayern are unwilling to meet Coman's demand to double his weekly wage of £160,000 and are willing to go as high as £215,000 a week.

It means Coman could be available for a cut-price £47million should Chelsea swoop in with a bid in January as they already look like planning for life without Hakim Ziyech who has been linked away in recent weeks.

What?

Chelsea are keen to secure a deal for West Brom youngster Leonardo Cardoso in January.

The 16-year-old is yet to sign a professional contract with the Baggies as the Blues looks to continue to add ammunition to the Cobham loan army that has done very well in recent years since Frank Lampard's tenure at the club in the managerial hot seat.
