Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has revealed Eden Hazard could be available for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Hazard, 30, has been plagued with injuries since joining the Spanish giants in 2019 and was expected to miss the match tomorrow evening against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But Zidane remains optimistic he will have recovered from his hip problem in time and can play some part of the huge clash.

“Hopefully we can get [Federico] Valverde and Hazard back,” Zidane said in the lead up to the seismic tie.

“We will see tomorrow and the day after. Today it was not possible but I hope that on Tuesday they can be with us.”

Hazard has played just 36 times since arriving in Madrid more than 18 months ago.

The former Chelsea man has scored a dismal four times for the 13-time European champions, failing to find any sort of consistent form.

But his career record against Liverpool is a good one as he has netted seven times in 18 games when playing the Reds.

Madrid are looking to reach the last four of the Champions League for the first time since they won the competition for a third successive time in 2018.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be hoping for retribution against Real Madrid after they were beaten in the final by Zidane’s side three years ago.
