Eddie Vedder sings happy birthday to his brothers at Montrose Harbor party

July 11--Generous sponsors for Thursday's Hot Stove Cool Music benefit concert at Metro featuring Eddie Vedder were treated to a second dose of the Pearl Jam singer Friday.

Vedder attended the outdoor sponsor party at Freedom Boat Club at Montrose Harbor and sang "I Can't Explain" by The Who with local band Expo '76. The rock legend then brought his brothers out to sing them happy birthday like only Eddie Vedder can. It was one brother's birthday Friday and the other brother's birthday Saturday.

Hot Stove Cool Music MC Joel Murray ("Mad Men") also sang a few songs at the intimate gathering by the lake and held his own even though he claimed it was the first time he sang in public since his youth choir days. Cubs play-by-play man Len Kasper made an appearance on the guitar during the party, just like he did the night before.

Also in attendance: Fitz and the Tantrums singer Michael Fitzpatrick, whose band performed at the Cubs-White Sox game at Wrigley Field earlier, Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein, who co-hosts Hot Stove Cool Music on behalf of his Foundation to be Named Later, former Blackhawk and long time Vedder pal Chris Chelios and Cubs' owner Tom Ricketts.

Hot Stove Cool Music raised over $300,000 for Foundation to be Named Later, which benefits urban youth and families.
