Eddie Nketiah to start at Charlton? How fans voted in our Leeds United WhatsApp poll

It has understandably been the hot topic of conversation among Leeds United fans following last week's disappointing draw at home to Derby.

Should Eddie Nketiah be given his first league start for the Whites?

The side's inability to take their chances, despite such dominant performances at home, is a story told too often after 90 agonising minutes of football at Elland Road.

So, is a change of personell up front the answer? Already we know Helder Costa will feature from the off at Charlton on Saturday. Pablo Hernandez's injury forced that change.

Patrick Bamford, despite a lack of goals since netting at Stoke, has scored highly on LeedsLive's full-time player ratings - he notched a seven last time out.

What Marcelo Bielsa decides to do waits to be seen, and in the meantime we took to LeedsLive's new Leeds United WhatsApp group to ask the question. This is the result:

Eddie Nketiah won the vote with over 44 per cent of fans preferring the Arsenal loanee to feature from the start at Charlton. Here's what some of the fans had to say with that decision:

32.2 per cent of the votes backed both to start up front, so not everyone want to see Bamford benched altogether. "Let's mix it up and try something different", was the view of fan Dom Peers who messaged in. Adam Dyson added: "Like to see both with Bamford doing what he's been doing all season and giving defenders a hard time."

Just 23.7 per cent fans were in support of Bamford's efforts so far this season, and wanted to see him in that XI come Saturday at The Valley. Here were their reasons for supporting Leeds United's number 9:

So, that was the result of our first WhatsApp poll, looking ahead to the visit to Lee Bowyer's Charlton on Saturday. If you want to sign up for updates, this is how:
