Eddie Nketiah sends message to Marcelo Bielsa ahead of Leeds United's double header vs Stoke

Eddie Nketiah has vowed to take his chance when handed a first Championship start for Leeds United.

The striker sealed a deadline day loan move to the Whites from Arsenal, but his only start thus far under Marcelo Bielsa has come in the Carabao Cup win over Salford City.

United won that game 3-0 and Nketiah opened his account for the club with the first goal. However, it wasn't enough to earn him a start against Wigan Athletic three days later.

But after netting on his Championship debut - within minutes of coming on - against Brentford on Wednesday night, Nketiah has most likely given Bielsa a selection headache.

Next on the horizon for the Championship leaders is a trip to Stoke City in the league on Saturday before hosting the Potters in the Carabao Cup three days later.

And Nketiah is hoping to get more opportunities.

"In the games I've played so far I feel like I've done well and made an impact on the game and scored in both," Nketiah told Leeds United.com.

"All I can do is what I'm doing and keep trying to apply the pressure and I'm sure I'll get my chance.

"And when I do, I'll take it.

"The team are doing well so far, we all know our targets and aims. It's important to keep the momentum going and keep pushing.

"Stoke is a good game, it will be a hard test and I'm sure the boys will be ready."

Bielsa did hint at more game time for Nketiah ahead of his match-winning contribution vs Brentford.

"We have no doubt these players are ready to play and report to the team," he said in his pre-match press conference, as reported by LeedsLive.

Carabao Cup second round draw in full

"The idea is to have 18 players who can play in the first 11, and these two players are in the group of this level of player."
