Eddie Nketiah's Leeds United squad number revealed

Leeds United have comfortably beaten the deadline day scramble to secure striker Eddie Nketiah on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

The youngster is one of north London's brightest prospects - he even scored the winner against German giants Bayern Munich in a pre-season friendly recently.

Now the forward will join up with Marcelo Bielsa's squad for their promotion push, and with Nketiah replacing the outgoing Kemar Roofe in attack, one might assume that he would also take Roofe's squad number.

Interestingly though, Nketiah will not be taking the number 7 shirt.

Perhaps a nod to Gunners legend Thierry Henry, Nketiah will take the number 14 shirt previously worn at Leeds United by Samu Saiz.

If he is even a fraction of the player Henry was, then Leeds United fans are in for a treat.

It remains to be seen whether Nketiah will feature for the Whites in their first home game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime (10/08).

The young striker will rival Patrick Bamford for the centre forward slot in the starting line-up.
