Eddie Nketiah's 2019/20 season for Leeds United simulated after Arsenal forward seals loan deal

The summer transfer window has closed and Leeds United were able to make one final signing, with Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah joining on a season long loan deal.

The Gunners youngster has made 19 senior appearances so far in his career for the North London side, scoring three goals. But he has been free-scoring in youth football, scoring 28 goals and registering seven assists in just 38 appearances for Arsenal Under-23's.

The 20-year-old forward will compete with the likes of Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts for a starting spot at Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa's side hoping to win promotion to the Premier League in 2019/20.

So, how will Nketiah get on at Elland Road?

And, how many goals will he score with the Championship?

We used Football Manager 2019 to have a bit of fun and try to predict Nketiah's season at Leeds.

To set up the simulation, we inputted the future loan transfer of Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal to Leeds on August 8 2019,

Using a fan made editor file, we also updated all the latest transfers, manager changes, promotions and relegations, to make it as realistic as possible, including the likes of Helder Costa, Ben White and Jack Clarke's loan back to Elland Road.

The only thing that we weren't able to do is include the accurate Championship fixtures for 2019/20, which have already been confirmed ahead of the new season.

We also stopped United signing anyone else in-game, to see how much of an impact Nketiah would have at Leeds.

So how much of an impact could Nketiah have at Leeds United in the 2019/20 season?

Here's what happened....

The 20-year-old had an outstanding season for Leeds, scoring 23 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions.

That includes 19 Championship goals in 43 league starts, proving himself to be a fantastic signing for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Interestingly, winger Ezgjan Alioski was the club's second-highest goalscorer followed by new signing Helder Costa.

Also, Nketiah's form was so good in the league, he was the joint third-highest goal scorer in the division, scoring the same as Joe Lolley, but not as much as Famara Diedhiou and Lee Gregory (Who moved from Stoke to Charlton in January).
