Eddie Nketiah reveals all about a 'chat' with Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus as goalscoring promise made

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has opened up about the 'little chat' he has had with new signing Gabriel Jesus as a goalscoring promise had been made after the Orlando City pre-season victory.

The Gunners continued their 100 per cent record in pre-season with their latest victory on foreign soil as Orlando City were the next in line for the north Londoners to pass by. Goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson and Nketiah himself have meant that Mikel Arteta's side have kept the positive momentum going ahead of their fast-approaching season opener at Selhurst Park on Friday, August 5.

With both Nketiah and Jesus already netting in different pre-season wins, Arteta can be confident that both can pick up the goalscoring mantle left by the departed duo of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, two striker's who seemingly had a good relationship on and off the pitch.

Arsenal supporters will hope their two current number 9's can form the same type of friendship which could pay its fruits in the long run.

Although the 23-year-old has only had a 'little chat' so far with the Brazilian so far, their companionship on the pitch already seems very healthy as demonstrated by the goal celebrations for the second goal of the night.

"Gabby did well in there," he said to Arsenal.com post-match. "I think he did a little shift and it dropped and I was alert and just passed it into the back of the net. It was nice to score and it’s a good feeling."

He then added on their relationship to date: "Yeah, we had a little chat, we’ve been getting on really well.

"I enjoy playing with him and obviously we’ve got the same celebration so we said the next time one of us score, he called me last time, so I said we can do a little link up next time.

"Hopefully, we can continue to score goals and celebrate together."

Chelsea, who have just come off the back of a penalty shoot-out loss against MLS side Charlotte FC, lie in waiting next for Jesus and Nketiah to attack together in the goalscoring sense.

Arsenal fans, how many goals combined do you reckon both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus will score next season in the Premier League? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
