Eddie Nketiah on competition for places at Arsenal as midfield moves into spotlight for Leeds match

Here is the Arsenal morning digest for Sunday, November 22.

Mikel Arteta must adjust Arsenal system vs Leeds

Thomas Partey has made a bright start to life at the Emirates but the Ghanian star will be missing for Arsenal’s trip to Elland Road.

It presents Mikel Arteta with an obvious problem, with neither Granit Xhaka or Dani Ceballos possessing the same skills as Partey.

As Andrew Dowdeswell writes, this means Arteta will need to adjust his system, and you can read about how he can do that here.

How Nketiah can get his dream shirt number

Eddie Nketiah has been speaking about his relationship with striking duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

The young striker has slowly emerged into the first-team picture at Arsenal and has some stiff competition ahead of him.

"I’ve got a very good relationship with both of them," Nketiah told The Athletic. "They’re top players whose records speak for themselves. Off the pitch, they’re great guys.

"As a young player, to compete with them, to push each other, is brilliant. I watch how they finish in a certain way, ask them how they got into a certain position or what they were thinking when they got there.

"Training with them just raises your level. I’m so grateful to have them."

The player has also been speaking about the battle to get into the first-team and his dream Arsenal shirt number. You can read the full story here.

The Willian team selection hint

Arsenal fans have been speculating about Mikel Arteta’s line-up for the meeting with Leeds United.

The Gunners are looking to bounce back from a 3-0 home defeat against Aston Villa, with Tashan Deniran-Alleyne talking through what fans have spotted during training that gave an indication as to how Arteta might line-up.

Some fans were adamant that Willian would miss out after a trip to Dubai during the international break, something Arteta touched on during his pre-match press conference.

"I had a conversation with him and explained what I was expecting," Arteta said. "There are a lot of personal factors at the moment from our side we need to be their shoes.

"A lot of players are having different issues like any public person out there. Sometimes they're making decisions based on the needs, different moments or what people are expecting from them.

"Whether they're right or wrong that's something we have to discuss but it's been dealt in the right way and let's move on."
