Eddie Nketiah called to give evidence in FA investigation into Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been revealed as one of the witnesses called on to give evidence in the FA hearing against former Leeds United teammate Kiko Casilla.

The goalkeeper was found guilty by the FA last week for racially abusing Charlton Athletic forward Jonathan Leko and was handed an eight-game ban and a £60,000 fine.

The FA have now released their findings during the investigation, with the documents showing that Nketiah was called to give evidence against the Leeds player.

Nketiah spent the first half of the season on loan at Elland Road and played 45 minutes of the game where the incident is said to have taken place.

The 20-year-old gave a witness statement to the FA as part of the investigation, with what was said now being released.

"I noticed Kiko Casilla (KC) was involved in a bit of back and forward with Jonathan Leko (JL)," Nketiah said in the statement.

"I think that JL was backing into KC and KC was moving him off him.

"I think there were a few words which were being said between the two of them, but I don’t recall hearing anything specific as this was just normal behaviour at a corner.

"I recall that the referee came over to speak to them, but I assumed that this was because of the back and forth that I just described. I couldn’t hear what the referee said to them."

The striker returned to the Emirates Stadium in January after failing to get enough game time at Leeds and has since scored two goals in his last two games for the Gunners.
