Eddie Nketiah admits frustration with Leeds United role after hat-trick for England U21s

Eddie Nketiah has admitted he is frustrated by his current role at Leeds United, as he awaits his first start in the Championship since moving to Elland Road.

The 20-year-old signed for Marcelo Bielsa's side in the summer on loan from Arsenal and has scored four goals in nine matches so far for the promotion-chasers, two of which came off the bench in the league.

Nketiah has certainly given Bielsa a lot to think about after scoring four goals during the international break, including a hat-trick in the 5-1 demolition of Austria.

The forward's lack of starts have reignited speculation of Bristol City's interest in the forward, should Arsenal end his loan prematurely, and Nketiah has admitted he isn't happy with his current situation at Leeds.

"I am really just trying to do as much as I can. Obviously, I will never be happy with being on the bench," he told Sky Sports .

"I want to play. I pride myself on being in the team. I think I am good enough to be in the team.

"All I can do is put in the performances that I do. When I come on [to] try and contribute and I think with the chances I have had, I have done really well.

"In the two games I have [started], I have scored. I always try and help the team when I come on.

"I feel like going away with England is always a great opportunity for me to continue to put a case forward and show myself."

United return to Championship action this weekend in the clash against Birmingham City, before a midweek tussle with Preston.
