Eddie Nketiah addresses Arsenal future amid January transfer exit rumours

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah has insisted he will continue to 'give his all' with rumours again circulating surrounding his future with the club.

The Gunners striker recorded his first senior hat-trick as his side easily dismissed League One side Sunderland in a comprehensive 5-1 win. Fellow academy graduate Charlie Patino also netted in the win as Mikel Arteta's side booked their place in this season's Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Nketiah, 22, has been high on the list of speculation over the past few weeks, with early indications suggesting he is looking for a move away in order to give him more regular first-team football, while his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The forward enjoyed early joy during a loan spell with Leeds United back in 2019, where he netted 5 times in 18 appearances for the Whites.

As Sky Sports caught up with the Gunners' number 30 following the impressive display against Sunderland, the Arsenal forward insisted his focus remains fully with the club.

"I'm just eager to play football. I'm here and under contract,'' said Nketiah. ''As long as I play for Arsenal I'm going to give my all."

He added: "This competition [Carabao Cup] has given me opportunities to play.

"I’m desperate to play football, every player wants to play. All I can do is work hard and it will work itself out."

Featuring just 6 times in total for Mikel Arteta's side this season, growing concerns have begun to creep in surrounding his current striking options, with rumours the club will look to both offload and strengthen the attacking department in January.

Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic and Everton striker Dominic Calvert Lewin are just two of the names linked with the club, with the Gunners bidding to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.
