Eddie Jackson says Bears are doing more than just talking about greatness

Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson has quickly ascended into superstar status after two incredibly productive seasons in the NFL. He was, at times, the best defensive player in the NFL in 2018.

And while he certainly has personal goals this season, he said Tuesday from Halas Hall that the Bears are on a quest for greatness that goes beyond just the chase.

“We’re chasing greatness. We’re not just saying it, we’re coming in and proving it,” he said.

Jackson started 14 games last season and finished the year with six interceptions and a remarkable three defensive touchdowns. His knack for timely and field-flipping turnovers have become his trademark quality early in his career.

Unfortunately, Jackson was injured in Week 15 against the Packers and missed the final two regular season games. He missed Chicago’s wild-card game against the Eagles, too.

Had Jackson played, the Bears may not have needed to rely on Cody Parkey at the end of the game.

But that’s all in the past now. It’s 2019, and Chicago is looking to make history in what’s shaping up to be a very special season for the Bears.
