Eddie Izzard has admitted to having “breast envy” since being a teenager.
The comic, 59, told of her love of boobs in an interview ahead of the release of movie Six Minutes to Midnight, a WW2 spy thriller which she stars in.
Izzard told The Guardian: “I’ve had boob envy since my teens. Just when teenage girls of my age were going ‘I want boobs’, I was thinking yeah me too. But I couldn’t say it.
"They talk about penis envy, and I believe some women suffer penis envy. I cannot for the life of me get my head around this. But yes, I’ve always had breasts envy.”
Eddie announced in December 2020 that she self-identified as gender-fluid during an appearance on Portrait Artist of the Year.

She said at the time they would be using female pronouns in future and wanted “to be based in girl mode from now on”.
Eddie has now explained she didn't want her announcement to be taken so literally.
She said: “What the world seems to have said to me is you can change your pronouns but you can’t use he and him as well. You’ve just got to be she and her from now on because we’ve only got so much time on our hands, thank you very much."

The comedian says she doesn’t view the perception of his announcement as a negative.
She said: “Great. I’ve been promoted to she, and it’s a great honour.”
Izzard added they have suffered cruel abuse, including people laughing at her and shouting slurs, which led to her suffering panic attacks.
Six Minutes to Midnight will be released on 26 March.

Last month it was announced Eddie will make her television comeback in a new Netflix crime drama entitled Stay Close.
She will play the role of a lawyer in the eight-parter, which will be filmed in Manchester later this year.
Stay Close is based on a novel by Harlan Coben, and bosses are said to have splashed the cash to add Izzard to the line-up.
