Eddie Howe to Celtic overdrive sees Bournemouth physio forced to set the record straight over next club

Bournemouth first team physio Jonny King insists he's not heading to Celtic after his farewell message set tongues wagging among the Hoops support.

The Parkhead faithful are awaiting updates on Eddie Howe after the club announced on Wednesday they hope to reveal their next manager soon.

Record Sport understands the 43-year-old wants to bring in trusted coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone plus Richard Hughes as technical director/chief scout.

But King insists he isn't joining his long-term Bournemouth colleagues by heading to Glasgow in the coming days.

He paid his tributes to the club he has worked with over a number of years but was forced to move to clear up any confusion over a potential switch to Celtic.

A fan shared a direct message where King commented his phone was blowing up with Parkhead supporters contacting him.

He said : "I can assure you I'm not going to Celtic, so you can ask all your friends to stop messaging me," and that was coupled with a laughing emoji.

Howe is on the verge of taking the reins at Celtic and overseeing a sizeable rebuild after a season to forget.

The Englishman is likely to face some big transfer calls with the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer and Ryan Christie expected to attract interest from elsewhere.
