Concerned Barry Ferguson feels that the silence from Celtic over Eddie Howe 's potential appointment will concern supporters.
The manager is the leading contender to take the top job at Parkhead, having turned down offers from the Premier League to await the call from Glasgow.
The former Rangers midfielder Ferguson fans will be worried that the out of work former Bournemouth boss has not been unveiled yet - although Celtic would have to make any such announcement to the London Stock Exchange, which does not reopen until Tuesday morning after Monday's Bank Holiday.
When discussing Howe's Celtic situation on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: "Is this not worrying? Is this not worrying that it's still not out, and that the manager is here?
"I'm sure fans over the weekend would be thinking we're looking at Monday and the new manager is going to be announced, that would be a worry for me that it's not been confirmed."
He added: "What he done at Bournemouth I thought was excellent.

"The only mark against him is getting relegated last season, but overall if you look at the way about his business and the way he handles himself, I think he would suit and could handle the Celtic managers job.
"I think it would be a good appointment, but the only worrying thing for me, from a Celtic supporters point of view, is why has he not been announced? What is the wait? I would be worried."
Ferguson believes it is vital that Howe is in at Celtic Park before the end of the campaign if Celtic are going to challenge Rangers next term.
With Dominic McKay set to start imminently in the chief executive role, the ex-Ibrox skipper believes the next boss should be in the same boat.
"I think it's important that they get the man is as soon as possible. Let John Kennedy do what he is doing, but they need to get in as soon as possible, if that is Eddie Howe who is the new manager.
"He needs to identify where he needs to strengthen, and there are key players as well going into the final 12 months of their contract. He needs to know if they want to stay or want to go.
"It looks to me like they want to go because they have not been signing a new contract. The likes of Ajer, Edouard and Christie.
"So I think it's important the manager gets in and gets a real feel for the club, and the most important thing at any club is recruitment, and there is a big recruitment drive needed at Celtic."
